Assistant Professor of Biochemistry
University of Nebraska – Lincoln
Dr. Helikar’s group work is three-fold; First, Dr. Helikar’s lab develops and uses predictive multi-scale computational models to improve our understanding of mechanisms of the immune system and its emergent dynamics, and to enable the design of more effective drug therapies. Second, his group develops software to enable more accessible, collaborative, and reproducible methods for computational modeling. Third, Dr. Helikar’s team develops computational modeling approaches as a pedagogical aid for life sciences students to learn about biological and biochemical processes by creating, simulating, and analyzing dynamical models embedded in these processes.
