Kimberly DeWitt serves as the inaugural Chief Data Officer for the State of Kansas, leading enterprise data efforts through the Office of Information Technology Services. Her mandate is to transform how data is governed, shared, and used to drive innovation across government. With over 25 years of experience in information technology, she is passionate about fostering collaboration, advancing transparency, and creating more common data spaces for the betterment of all citizens. Kimberly has a Bachelor’s in International Business from Park University, an Executive MBA in Executive Management from Baker, a Professional Certificate in Public Management from KU, and is currently pursuing her Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). She holds both PMP and CSM certifications. She is also an international CEO, heading up DeWitt Global Ventures, a family of three companies based in Kansas City, Kansas and Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania focused on management consulting, training/development, and a coffee brand. Her interests include keeping too much on her plate, finding chaos to conquer, and all the “Data” things.
